National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo)

Design // Execution

The Office of Letters and Light, the parent organization that challenges everyone to put aside the month of November to write the Great American Novel or 50,000 words in any case has been a repeat client for a variety of pieces to supplement their big challenge.

After creating new themed graphics for their mail and forums systems in 2006, as well as a coffee label for their clever donor give away, we worked with them on updating more of the site in 2007.

In addition to a new and improved site logo graphic we created an engaging fundraising "thermometer" to encourage participants to give more than words and help fund youth programs and librarys around the world. We also overhauled their beloved flash author pages so that they could keep up with the rapid growth of the NaNo movement and not bring the servers or administrators crashing down.

Response to the new look, improved usabilty and added functionalities (we also styled some spiffy dynamic flash word count graphs) has been positive among their dedicated members as well as the web staff, including Drupal programmer Russ Uman.

We highly recommend you visit the site since its just as fun and witty as you might expect from a crazy writing contest like this and then take part next November.
